JULIA KONTAK
I am the creator and face behind Sweat Service. I am a fitness and yoga instructor based in my hometown of Halifax, Nova Scotia focusing on low impact movement, great playlists always included! I have been teaching barre-inspired workouts for over three years at different studios in Halifax and recently completed my yoga teacher training. I am now expanding my offerings to private group events!
My fitness and yoga classes go beyond just the instruction of movement, but are an experience in itself that is perfect for group events. They are musically driven, easy to modify and can be curated to your needs. I guarantee a great sweat and a smile leaving my classes. Let’s make movement fun, together!
New to this form of movement or have injuries? I understand the feeling of limitations. When I was 15 I underwent spinal fusion surgery for Scoliosis - a sideway curvature in the spine. My curve was a whooping 57 degrees, I gained 2 inches of height (cha-chingggg), but lost the majority of mobility in my spine. What I used to think was a weakness, I now use as a strength and it allows me to offer safer and more supportive instruction because of it. No matter what age, fitness level or ability you may have, low-impact movement are easily adaptable to suit your needs - lets make movement accessible, together!
